Sound too good to be true? It isn't! For those of you that don't go to the gym or exercise on a normal basis, some extra walking can do wonders for your metabolism.There are several simple ways to incorporate more walking into your daily routine.
How to Do It
One easy way to put more walking into your schedule is to park your car as far away from your destination as possible. Instead of driving around looking for the closest spot, you can park in the back and walk. Another simple way to add walking into your routine is always taking the stairs. Whenever you're tempted to take the escalator or elevator, fight your urge and take the stairs. It may end seem like much, but once you start doing it you'll realize the difference. If you have a dog or children, you can go on more walks with them. This is very beneficial because not only are you getting exercise, but your pet and/or children are getting healthy exercise too.
Keeping it Consistent
The more physical activity you engage in, the better you will feel. Walking is an easy way to incorporate more exercise into your day and is a great starting point to doing more intense workouts in the future. Although walking may not seem like much, if you make an effort to walk more than usual on a consistent basis, you will start seeing a difference sooner than you think. With the right amount of exercise and a healthy diet, you could lose 10 pounds or more!
